Saturday November 29, 1862. The 16th on picket; the 12th in Camp.


"Camp Vermont November 29, 1862

"Friend Swain:– I go on picket directly, and ere I return it will be too late to give you note of the events for next week. ... Very hastily yours, Duane" E. D.
